Faculty

We only secure instructors with extensive experience and who have a passion for teaching and sharing their love of dance. These methods help to provide a healthy and enjoyable learning environment and allow the students to experience a feeling of mastery in each level. It is a style that readily adapts to meet the demands of any choreographer, any company, and any style of movement.

SAM- The Dance Studio Manager

Ms. Sam started dancing at the age of 6 at Edmund Towers School of Dance. By the age of 9, she joined the Windsor Competitive Dance Team, travelling to competitions and conventions throughout the United States and Canada. At 15, she started working as a dance assistant at Edmunds Towers and became a dance teacher a few years later. After graduating high school, Ms. Sam spent a year in Japan as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student. She attended school, had private Japanese lessons, and took ballet and hip hop classes at her local dance studio. Upon returning to Canada, Ms. Sam completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Windsor studying Psychology after which she completed her Bachelor’s of Education. Upon graduating, Ms. Sam auditioned for Stiletto Entertainment and got cast as a dancer aboard Holland America’s Ms. Maasdam. She spent a year travelling the world and fulfilling her lifelong dream of dancing professionally. After this, Ms. Sam accepted a job as an English teacher in South Korea where she lived, worked, and danced recreationally for a year. She then decided to move to Melbourne, Australia where she worked as a Special Education teacher for 2.5 years. Ms. Sam has now relocated back to Canada and is thrilled to be teaching dance as well as managing The Dance Studio at Absolute Fitness.

MARIANNA

Ms. Marianna has performed many styles of dance, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap, and pointe. She started dancing around the house at a young age which prompted her to enroll in dance classes. Since then, dance has been a passion of hers, so she decided to audition for an arts high school which she attended for 4 years. There, she was able to able to continue learning and performing her greatest passion.

LEAH

Ms. Leah has been dancing her whole life. She began taking classes at the age of 3 at Edmunds Towers School of Dance. She then went on to take ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and pointe classes. Ms. Leah also attended Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts, studying ballet, jazz, and modern dance. She is currently a student at the University of Windsor in the Engineering Program. Ms. Leah is excited to be sharing all her years of dance knowledge with her students!

SAM F.

Ms. Sam was a competitive dancer for 13 years and a dance teacher for 2 years at TC’z Dance Studio. Her passion for dance has led her to dance in competitions across the U.S. and Ontario as well as perform in a gala with Jordan Fisher. Ms. Sam loves to teach dance to children of all ages and is very excited to continue teaching at The Dance Studio!

SARA

Ms. Sara has taken ballet and gymnastics since childhood at different centres throughout Windsor. She is thrilled to share her love of dance with her students and to help them develop not only skills and technique but the confidence to grow in an encouraging environment.

EMMA

Since the age of 3, Ms. Emma has been dancing at various local studios where she learned the fundamentals of jazz, tap, hip hop and contemporary, going on to dance competitively for 7 years. At Cathy’s Dance Studio, she taught ballet, tap and jazz. and also was in co-op for Mrs. J. Lam at Holy Names high school, teaching Latin, modern and was a leader for the Dance Fit class, focusing on Special Needs students. Throughout her 4 years in highschool, she began to study more types of dance such as breaking, Latin and modern. This is where she found her love for improvisation and modern movement. In 2019, Emma had the opportunity to participate in workshops for Hip Hop and Fosse taught by professional choreographers in New York City. Emma is currently enrolled in the Music Theatre Performance programme at St. Clair College. She is very excited to share her passion for dance with the children in our community.

LAUREN

Ms. Lauren began studying ballet at the Dance Studio of Académie Ste. Cécile in 2004. She has also taken Chinese dance from 2012-2018, jazz from 2013-2020, tap dancing from 2014-2016, and modern dance from 2014-2016.  Lauren was also part of the studio’s dance company from 2014-2020 where she performed on a regular basis and learned additional dance forms such as lyrical dance and street styles. Lauren started as an assistant teacher at the académie for several teachers in 2014, helping with the ballet and jazz classes for students ages 4-14.  She began teaching her own ballet classes in 2018 and progressed to teaching tap and jazz classes in 2019.  Lauren continues teaching in all of these capacities and enjoys sharing her love of dance.

ANDREA

Ms. Andrea has been teaching Ballet for over 40 years. She has had students accepted into the National Ballet of Canada’s full time program and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Ballet Chicago and the Joffrey School of Ballet full time programs. Ms. Stafford teaches students, teachers and studio owners through Essex, Kent and Oxford counties. Ms. Andrea has taught for many workshops and intensive programs throughout Ontario and the United States including the Cecchetti International Summer School and in Holland Michigan at Hope College. She is a member by examination of Dance Masters of Michigan and the Cecchetti Council of America and is currently the only teacher in Essex and Kent COunties who holds the Cecchetti Teachers Advanced (Grade VII) certificate.
